Ouida Lagos' Puff Puff and Peppered Beef

There is obviously more to Ouida Lagos than puff puff and peppered beef but it’s one of my highlights whenever I visit.

As a person who works from home, I enjoy visiting work stations around where I live to tap into the energy of fellow remote workers. It’s only a matter of time before one gets cabin fever when the only companion they have is a plushie(don’t even ask)

What makes Ouida Lagos so special to me? It’s with space that holds everything I enjoy in one place.

There’s a bookstore. The curation of books is impressive, no matter how hard I try, I always find a book I have to get. The sellers are knowledgeable about their inventory which always makes for interesting conversations.

There is a cafe. It’s popular for Lagos street food as well as snacks and this is where I’d like to recommend puff puff, peppered beef, and Zobo. The prices are pretty fair, so you can ball out on a budget.

The work station also doubles as a space for cultural events like the monthly Open Mic Nights and Iseda.

Ouida Lagos, a brain of Lola Shoneyin, represents the commitment to the idea that culture and learning are not luxuries, but essential components of a thriving community.

Here’s a list of cool things that have happened at Ouida Lagos:

  • Marriage proposal
  • Book launches
  • Book chats
  • Seminars
  • Book club meetings
  • Art Exhibitions
  • Concerts
  • Film Screenings

The space can be used in any way, you just have to think big. It’s located at 34, Ajanaku Street, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos. Also, joining the Ouida community entitles you so many perks, I highly recommend becoming a member.
