When I started The Indulgent Bibliophile book club, my big idea was to connect with open/like-minded readers through stories I love—stories about women, written by women. Books have a special way of sparking conversations, making us laugh when we need it most, and creating connections that go beyond the page. It’s an indulgence that deserves to be shared.
So, if you’re interested in stories that light you up, move you, and remind you why you fell in love with reading in the first place, you’re in the right place. And I hope you stay for a long time. x
Here, we prioritize books by authors of African, Caribbean, Asian, and Middle Eastern origin. It’s a digital reading group and we meet on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Our reading list covers a variety of genres from contemporary to classic reads. Sometimes, we’re joined by the author of the book-of-the-month.
Just like its big sister, this book club is all about translated fiction, books translated from other languages to English. It’s a book club for hardcore readers who enjoy travelling the world through books. Here, we allow ourselves experience the richness of languages, storytelling traditions, and perspectives from around the world through translations. We meet on the last Sunday of February, April, June, August, October, and December.
